Don't let the roar of a noisy bath fan disrupt your peace and quiet. Protect your bath and your sanity with Fantech Inline Exhaust Fans. Unlike standard bathroom fans, the fan motor mounts away from the living area. The result is a bathroom exhaust system that is powerful yet quiet. Choose single port or multi-port kits with or without lights. The following guidelines from HVI,The Home Ventilating Institute, are provided to help you choose the ideal ventilation products. These are only recommendations. Always check local codes for requirements in your area. How To Size Your Bath Ventilation System: Baths under 100 Sq. Ft. The standard rule for baths 100 square feet or smaller is one CFM per square foot of bathroom. To find the square footage simply multiply the length of the bath by the width. Example: 8' x10' bath = 80 square feet. You will need an 80 CFM fan for this bath. Baths over 100 Sq. Ft. Ventilation for baths over 100 square feet is calculated based on the fixtures in the bath. Allow 50 CFM for each standard toilet, shower, steam shower* or tub. Whirlpool, garden and hot tubs are calculated at 100 CFM. Add up the CFMs for all fixtures and you'll have the total CFMs required. Example 1: 1 Toilet + 1 Shower + 1 Tub = 150 CFM Example 2: 1 Toilet + 1 Shower + 1 Whirlpool Tub = 200 CFM *Note: We recommend that steam showers use a separate fan on a timer so that the fan may be shut off during shower use and then run afterward to dry the shower stall. FANTECH recommends the use of insulated flexible duct. |
