- John Boos & Co actively demonstates air quality control in compliance with all local and federal hazardous air pollutants (HAPS) regulations.
- John Boos & Co manufactured wood products emit far less carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, methane and other gases than processing non-wood substitutes.
- John Boos & Co uses only formaldehyde free and low emission formaldehyde gluing processes in manufacturing their butcher blocks.
Consideration for the Production Resources:
- John Boos & Co demonstrates use of abundant sustainable renewing timbers in their product as practived by NHLA Members. Their hardwood foresters follow professional best practices that mirror natrual forces. Individual trees are selected for harvest, encouraging forests to renew and regenerate themselves naturally and prolifically.

Consideration for Environmental Stewardship
- John Boos & Co has active recycling programs in place with 95% of all raw materials, scrap, and even the sawdust being recycled as fuel to heat the kilns. The sawdust is as well recycled as livestock bedding for their local agricultural needs. |
